The 2019 Christmas Market and Festival will be held on Sunday 1st December.

The market is expected to have even more stalls in Kirkgate and Westgate this year, as well as the Craft Fair in the Riley-Smith Hall and events taking place in the churches.

The outdoor market will take place between 09.30 and 15.30pm and will once again host a variety of business, charities and local groups within the stalls.

Visitors can pick up unique and original Christmas gifts, support local produce and divulge in the food stalls. A selection of local shops and food outlets will also be open on the day, including warm food, hot drinks, warm fresh mulled wine and other Christmas beverages.

For music lovers- the outdoor live music will be hosted by Minister FM, James Brown Music and The Barn Trio. York RI Golden Rail Band will be performing in Riley Smith Hall between 10.00 and 15.00pm, where there will also be a cafe, bar, and craft and gift stalls.

To really get in the festive mood there will be a joint school choir performance outside St Mary’s Church at 15.00pm followed by a Christingle service at 15.30pm

The Boy’s Sunday school will also be open between 10.00 and 15.00pm with indoor stalls and takeaway refreshments served all day.

Tadcaster Methodist Church will be open a day earlier on Saturday between 10am-2pm and be open at the same times on the Sunday- where a cafe will be open serving refreshments on both days, as well as stalls and candles. The theatre lovers can enjoy a dress up nativity with a photo opportunity.

The Salvation Army will open between 09.00am and 15.00pm, serving free tea and coffee with a selection of food priced at £2 for Bacon, sausage or egg butties, homemade soup and a roll and a selection of cakes. There will be a running carol service all day!
