Back in August, Tadcaster Echo reported on how Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool, which had remained closed since March due to the coronavirus pandemic, was in danger of closing permanently if support wasn’t given.
We can now share the fantastic news that the fitness centre has now reopened after receiving a £100,000 boost from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Chris Porter, the facility manager, commented: “It is an amazing amount of money to be awarded. This money will now be used to get the facility ready for our customers and support us over the next six months.
“The current industry restrictions and particularly the reduced capacity meant that if we reopened we would have made significant losses each month. It has been a very difficult six months of closure and we would like to thank the support from the community, everyone has been fantastic.”
As it is a charitable organisation, Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool relies heavily on customers visiting the centre. Now more than ever the facility needs the communities support to ensure its doors can remain open.
Although your visit may be a little different for a while, the team at Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool have worked hard to make the venue safe and the people of Tadcaster can now get their fitness fix.
