Black Dyke Band star to join forces with Halle Brass Quintet for a day of free brass tuition and inspiration in Tadcaster.
Katrina Marzella will be helping youngsters in North Yorkshire brush up their skills on all things brass next weekend.
The Yamaha artist is taking part in a ‘Big Brass Day!’ on Sunday 1st December at Tadcaster Grammar School.
The event is free to attend and run by the youth music charity NYMAZ who are inviting young brass players to explore different styles of music, play alongside professional musicians, learn new skills, attend workshops and meet leading performers.
The Big Brass Day is aimed at musicians aged up to 18 years old who are at Grade 4 and above and participants will also have the opportunity to play with and learn from special guests, the Brass Quintet from the Halle Symphony Orchestra.
Players will also be able to rehearse and join the County Youth Big Band, run by the North Yorkshire Music Service.
This workshop is designed to enable the young musicians to explore different styles of brass playing and refine their technique.
Participants will be able to listen to the world-class group Halle Brass Quintet perform and have the opportunity to learn from them in rehearsals and masterclasses as well as play alongside them.
All brass players up to 18 years old and Grade 4 standard and over are welcome. For more information visit www.bigbrassdaythree.eventbrite.co.uk
