Free Thomas the Tank Engine Books available at Smyths for this World Book Day

Network Rail has announced that they have teamed up with Smyths Toy Store this World Book Day to give away special edition books of Thomas The Tank Engine.

The Stay Safe with Thomas storybook sees Thomas having fun on the railway, but putting his fun before being safe. This eventually leads to putting himself and his friends in harm’s way.

He learns about the dangers of not stopping at a level crossing when the red light shows, not to leave gates open that allow animals to cross the tracks, and not to stand too close to the edge of a platform.

To get your free copy of Thomas & Friends: Stay Safe with Thomas, head down to a participating Smyths retailers. The closest store to Tadcaster is in York, Clifton Moor Retail Park, 2, Hurricane Way, YO30 4XU.

These books will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to get there early. Plus, there will be great deals on Thomas & Friends toys.

If you can’t get to a Smyths store, download your free copy of the Thomas & Friends: Stay Safe with Thomas at: www.networkrail.co.uk/thomas

Allan Spence, head of public and passenger safety at Network Rail said:

“We hope by getting the story book out to as many families as possible we can help to start the conversation around rail safety at a younger age. By delivering gentle messages about rail safety to children we can help to build a new generation of safety ambassadors across the rail network.”
