City Legends match and fun day

As part of an extensive programme of community events, York City Supporters’ Trust are pleased to announce a City Legends vs All Star 11s fundraising match to be held on 5th August at Tadcaster Albion FC.

This exciting match will form part of a wider Family Fun Day that includes several children’s fairground rides (charges apply), craft stalls, a fully licensed bar and much more. Doors open at 12:30pm with activities continuing into the early evening.

Entry to the match and fun day is £5 for adults, £2 for children (under 16) or £10 for a family of four. As the event is expected to be in high demand, we recommend that fans buy tickets in advance tickets from www.ycst.org.uk/legends-match. Subject to availability, tickets may also be available on the day.

Four York City legends have now been announced including Michael Ingham & Scott Kerr – part of the Wembley Twice squad of 2012. They have been joined by two members of the first City squad to visit Wembley when victorious over Crewe in the play-off final of 1993 – Andy McMillan and Steve Bushell. Further players will be announced shortly via a dedicated Twitter account @YCSTFootballMa1.

Commenting on his involvement, Scott Kerr said “I’m really pleased to be taking part in the forthcoming YCFC Legends game at Tadcaster Albion as it will be great to catch up with the lads I played with & also meet those taking part from the years before I played at such a special football club.”

He went on to say, “It’s also great to help support the York City Supporters Trust & The Offside Trust. The Supporters Trust are working hard to protect the fan’s interests at the club & The Offside Trust are helping many of those who we have shared dressing rooms with over the years who suffered terrible acts of abuse – so the day is all in aid of two excellent organisations. I’m really looking forward to it and I hope that everyone turns out to make it a fantastic occasion”

Special thanks go to the Trust’s Fundraising Team, the Offside Trust, the i2i Academy, Tadcaster Albion and all the players and officials who have kindly offered their time and support. The Supporters’ Trust look forward to welcoming fans young and old to this exciting event for all the family.
